GHEM: Conditioning Cells for Regeneration

Tech ID: 25.712

Key Features

  • Novel GHEM (Growth Hormone, Epinephrine, Mitochondria) three-step priming strategy designed to induce a regenerative phenotype in ageing cells
  • Advanced culture medium formulation enhances the regenerative and proliferative capacity of ageing stem cells
  • Potential cell-free therapy offers anti-ageing and tissue rejuvenation benefits without the need for direct stem-cells transplantation
  • Demonstrated reduction in cellular senescence and enhanced proliferation in laboratory tests

Description

A novel technology developed by Dr Andrés Caicedo and researchers at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), uses a three-step conditioning process combining Growth Hormone, Epinephrine and Artificial Mitochondrial Transfer (GHEM) to condition mesenchymal stem cells and enhance their regenerative activity.

GHEM is designed to stimulate MSCs to produce a bioactive secretome/conditioned medium with potential regenerative applications. Preliminary studies demonstrate reduced cellular senescence, enhanced fibroblast proliferation, changes in celleular metabolic activity, and a more improved regenerative potential. The resulting conditioned medium offers the potential for a cell-free regenerative approach, without the need to administer live stem cells directly

Applications

  • Anti-ageing skincare and cosmetics
  • Tissue repair and wound healing
  • Regenerative medicine
  • Hair growth and follicle regeneration
  • Cell-free therapeutics
